I’ve tried 3 different brands of eyelash extensions Novalash, Extreme Lash, and Blink Lashes. Extensions really work wonders on your overall look, however they do require attention. When I was pregnant I loved them because I never had to do my makeup to look “awake”. But this time I find that they are annoying the heck out of me. They look good, but I feel like they are more work than they are worth. This last time I got the Extreme Lash brand and they are pretty exteme. I have pretty nice lashes naturally, so I find myself getting more and more annoyed with the extensions. They are really crunchy because they are plastic basically. Sometimes I really REALLY want to itch my eyes but I can’t because the extensions. In a week I am going to someone in my town to get a new MINK extension done and I am SO SO excited. She said they were much much lighter and softer than the traditional lash extensions. So far my experience has been LOVE/HATE. A full set is anywhere from $150 – $300 and every 2-3 weeks you must pay $40 – $80 for a fill. The Extreme lash brand tends to be a little more expensive. I paid $200 for my full set and the Extreme Lash fills are $60 – $100. Now if you consider that you would spend MAYBE $50 – $200/ year on mascara (depending on brand) extensions are pretty costly. After about a week they become harder to control and they tend to criss cross because your natural lash has grown out. I’ve also had really bad allergic reactions to the NovaLash glue. I think NovaLash is a brand you have to be cautious about. The person who applies the extension needs to be really good or it could be a disaster. So far it seems like anyone can apply NovaLash with little to NO expertise. So I find that word of mouth is the best way to find someone trustworthy. Like anything in the makeup/beauty world you have to find someone who knows what they are doing. I’m going to try these mink ones in a week and I will update with the results.

Cons:
They criss cross when your lashes start to grow out
They feel heavy on my eyelids
They are crunchy/pokey
You can never get your makeup 100% off
You have to be careful with them
They did effect the length of my natural lashes (used Latisse for a while and they grew back)
Very expensive vs. annual mascara costs

Pros:
Who doesn’t want movie star lashes?
Don’t have to bother with mascara
They are always curled
