Fall In Indiana!

This post is coming up late because of course, technical difficulties. I would be able to post a lot more and a lot faster if I was more tech savvy! Anyways here are some pictures from our trip to Indiana last month to visit Tom’s parents. I was really hoping to see some Fall colors but unfortunately we came too early. It was still so much fun to enjoy the Fall festivities in another state! I think we need to do it more often. We rarely travel for pure leisure. There is usually business somewhere in the mix. This trip was unique because it was PURE leisure. No meetings or meetings to go to, just fun family outings.

Don’t you love this kimono? I have it in Wine Red also and it’s the perfect Fall addition to my wardrobe. For under $16 how can you resist? I’ve been living in kimonos since I had Elliot. Losing the baby weight has been slow this time around. After Audrey I was back into my pre baby body in 4 months. With Elliot I made it a point to take things slow and be better to my body. But it does get me down sometimes when I feel uncomfortable in my clothes. I refuse to buy a whole new wardrobe while I’m in weight loss mode. I invested in a few pieces that will be able to get me through until I reach my goal weight. Kimonos are a great choice for me because they are beautiful and modest. They have helped me feel more ‘put together’ while I’m still not quite myself after baby #2. 10lbs to go!

Part of the reason we came this particular weekend was because Tom really wanted to go to The Feast of The Hunters Moon. It’s a festival where people dress up and they reenact how life would have been when the area was first settled. Vendors cook over open fires and they have fashion and items from that day and age.

My favorite part of the whole trip was visiting the pumpkin patch. It was a REAL pumpkin patch with the pumpkins still growing on the vine. I love pumpkin patches but sometimes you go to them and it’s just a setup. They hauled the pumpkins in from some other farm and set them on the ground. I like to see them growing! We found one in Texas last year but it was almost 100 degrees when we went! Way too hot. It was hot in Indiana too, but the orchards around this beautiful patch made me more forgiving to the heat. We got all our Fall festivities done in one weekend! Cheers!

Air Show

We had a great weekend! Saturday we took everyone to the air show! I’ve been going to air shows since I was little so I was excited to see the one. It’s been a few years since I’d seen the Thunderbirds. Who am I kidding it’s been over a decade! We showed up at around 1:30pm because the Thunderbirds were scheduled to fly at 3pm. If you’re not familiar with air shows, the Thunderbirds are the big guys people show up to see. They are a team of elite pilots in the Air Force. It’s not only pilots. There are hundreds of people on the Thunderbirds team that keeps things running smoothly. I love seeing them fly. No matter what age you are you’ll watch in awe of their skill and the power of the F16. The maneuvers they complete are so crazy cool! It’s definitely something you need to see. Oh and LOUD! Very loud.

See this picture below. Yes they are flying on top of each other! And the F16 on the top is upside down. EEEEK! So cool right? We enjoyed the Thunderbirds SO much. Well almost all of us. Audrey hated every minute. She is very sensitive to loud noises so she was crying most of the show. Elliot on the other hand was so into it. He wasn’t sure what exactly was going on, but he liked it. Even though I had been to many air shows in the past I forgot about the noise. We had to sacrifice our own hearing to cover Audrey and Elliot’s ears with our hands. Elliot was less bothered by the noise and more upset that we were keeping him from experiencing the deafening roar!

We brought our trusty double stroller along. This thing is worth it’s weight in gold guys. There are so many strollers on the market, but none quite as sturdy or durable as the BOB.

My sunglasses are actually my favorite pair EVER! I’ve had them for 2 years and I just love them. The best part is that they are large but not overwhelming and they won’t go out of style. I’ve been so impressed by the quality of this pair. I’ve had a lot of higher end sunglasses in my time, but these ones are worth the money. I can’t say that about some other pairs I’ve owned in the past. My Kimono is from Amazon and it’s less than $16! I have the colors Wine Red and Khaki. Very cute and very easy to dress up a simple outfit. They come in 4 different color.

What a fun day! Brought back a lot of memories from growing up. I think we’ll have to make this an annual thing again. Of course next year we won’t forget to buy the headphones for the kids. Poor Audrey was not happy. So we treated her to a sugar filled slushie after the show. We even got to meet the Thunderbirds team. Audrey could care less about them though. She was still upset that their show caused her so much discomfort so she sat in the stroller as we took Elliot to meet them. It’s impossible not to get all excited! These guys are real life super heroes!

Halloween 2017

This Halloween was a SUCCESS! It was pretty slow though due to the rain. It was raining on and off all day so I think it kept  a lot of families indoors. Last year I was SUPER pregnant (2 weeks away from delivering) and it was HOT! So the cooler weather was nice this year. As you can see we were a cute little Tim Burton family. I was Emily from The Corpse Bride. Audrey was Sally and Elliot was Jack The Pumpkin King. They were SO SO SO SO cute. I loved dressing them up together. Raise your hand if you are into family Halloween dress up! When it got darker Tom hid in the bushes and jumped out to scare all the unsuspecting trick or treaters. THAT was fun. We live to scare poor little children on Halloween. We had the 3 fog machines going and I blast scary noises through the speakers. Some kids didn’t even want to walk up to get candy haha.

I hope you all had a very festive Halloween! Now I am itching to put up the Christmas tree. I doubt Tom will let me but I can beg can’t I?
